SETI - *Continues* OPENING QUESTIONS: Write down the your response to Fermi's Paradox on the paper strip I've passed out. Then talk with your team and rank those from most to least likely. OBJECTIVE: I will write a quality response to Fermi's Paradox during today's class. I will research a strong counter-argument to my response during today's class. WORD FOR TODAY:
WORK O' THE DAY: We didn't get too far on yesterday's plan (which is just fine, we needed to get our practice CONTACT article done! Speaking of which, let's take a 'gallery walk' and review the various articles. Please bring along something to write on and we'll have a vote on the most informative article. ═══════════════════════════ A number of us have NOT submitted your OUAP project. That is getting really, really stale. Let's get those in ASAP so I can grade them and get them back to you! Ditto with the Cosmology Unit Test! I'm going to CLOSE both of those at the end of this week so please, please, please take care of those forthwith! ═══════════════════════════ Let's revisit Fermi's Paradox again-- I STRONGLY recommend taking notes:
Let's discuss-- Fermi's Paradox has been around since about 1950 so many, many scientists have struggled with it and possible answers have been grouped into a certain number of categories. ═══════════════════════════ To Wit (We *did* do this yesterday so be sure and copy and paste your conversation with GPT HERE (Fermi's Paradox ChatGpt Conversation)): Open chatGpt and begin a conversation with it like this (Feel free to copy and paste this to the wizard): "I'm a high school student in an astronomy class and we are studying Fermi's Paradox. Can you explain that to me briefly? Oh and please don't spew a lot of text at me, I want to have a conversation with you, not a lecture!" Spend a few moments having an actual conversation with chatGpt. A lot of folks don't know just how powerful that program is to help explain or clarify concepts. Treat it like an expert teacher, professor, scientist, whatever. If something seems off or you just don't buy it, call it out and see how it replies (You won't hurt its feelings, honest!) When you are done, copy and paste your conversation into our classroom submittal screen HERE (Fermi's Paradox ChatGpt Conversation) |
